Setting up FAQs
This depends on the type of session you are having. If you are meeting the acupuncturist for the first time the initial session can be slightly longer than one hour in order to get all the information they need on your health and perform treatment. A follow up session is one hour long, and a community acupuncture appointment is typically half an hour long.
Acupuncture can help with pain and in many circumstances acupuncturists work closely with physiotherapists and massage therapists for accidents, healing from surgery or aging issues such as arthritis. Acupuncture can also help with insomnia, stress/anxiety, period issues, pregnancy, fertility/infertility, vertigo, parkinsons disease, it also is great for skin issues, and cosmetic acupuncture is very beneficial.
Good question! There is a big difference. A TCM acupuncturist is trained in traditional Chinese medicine for 3 years. They learn special techniques but they also learn how to diagnose disease and then use the needles to balance the body back to health. A physiotherapist is taught to use the needles to release knots in muscle and alleviate pain.
